We provide a full range of services for other alpaca owners including
boarding, breeding, birthing, shearing, nail & teeth
trimming. We also offer show training and transportation
to and from shows. In addition, we can transport your animals
with our trailer. And this year we are excited about starting
an Alpaca 4H club which will be fun and educational for children
9-16 years of age.

Public Seminars:
Alpaca Showmanship Skills Awareness
Kim, a National Champion Handler, with her many
skills and abilities as a mentor of new alpaca farmers has taken
to the road. This year marks the third year she has provided
educational presentations to the public on a number of subjects.
She'll be providing these hands-on teaching seminars at several
shows this year. So look for her to be lecturing at seminars
in many of your favorite shows. If she's not on your venue,
then ask your show providers to see about scheduling her in
the future. If you are part of the committee scheduling speakers,
contact us to check for availability as dates fill up from a
month to a year in advance so some dates may not be available.
Currently the presentation will be on "Alpaca Showmanship
Skills Awareness." But look for other courses to be generated
in the future. This Showmanship seminar will outline the skill
areas that many exhibitors can use to greatly improve performance
scores for both their alpacas' in Halter Class as well as for
the showperson for the Performance Class. A hard copy of the
material will be provided for those in attendance of the seminar.
The presentation will include increasing awareness of alpaca
owners' responsibilities and conduct with respect to their animals
both in and out of the showring. For a full synopsis of the
course and it's cost, contact us at our email or snail mail
addresses. Or just call to talk about your specific needs as
we can tailor some aspects of the material to cover any perceived
or desired need in depth.
1 day includes 2 seminars: $500.00. Additional
seminars per day: $100.00 each. This includes cost of materials
provided for class attendees. Seminars last about 1.5 to 2 hours
each.
You pay expenses for travel, board, food and charge
per day, all of which are very reasonable. Events such as auctions
work very well in addition to shows. For quotes on a case-by-case
basis, please call. References available upon request. Give
us a call - you'll love the results :-) 440-259-3564

Shearing, Nail, &
Teeth Trimming
Want to shear your pregnant moms early to avoid
heat stress? Do you have alpacas that you are going to show? Do
you want to shear them before or after the show? Do you have an
alpaca that has a beautiful fleece you would like to enter in
a fleece show? We specialize in taking the time to shear your
alpaca for show. Kim has a good eye and steady hand that a shearer
needs to produce a well-groomed animal. We provide toenail trimming,
teeth filing, and can give injections during the shearing process.
This reduces the amount of time and stress your alpacas have to
endure in receiving required care.
We also offer "show cuts" for fine grooming in preparation
for shows to remove guard hairs only on non-fiber judged areas
(as you can't tamper with the blanket), and to shape up the top
knot, including belly cuts to ventilate those late season full
fleece show animals. This helps minimize stress from the heat.
Our standard product is the total "Spa Package"
that includes shearing, teeth trimming and nail trimming. Whether
a show animal or a pet, they'll be ready to enter the show ring
once they're done !!!
Price per Alpaca: $60.00
All other services are on a "case-by"
basis. We can customize our services to meet your needs !!!
Your assistance will be needed to hold your animal
and to bag your fiber. Please be timely with your appointment
and ready to shear as excessive delays will be charged at $20.00
per hour.

Transportation:
Need a trailer to transport your alpacas? We
may be able to do it for you. We transport alpacas at 75
cents per alpaca per mile. That's mileage from the time we leave
the farm until we return to the farm. If it's a show we're attending,
we just charge 50 cents per alpaca per mile but are limited to
numbers of alpacas as we're taking our own as well. Call
for arrangements and availability: (440) 259-3564.
Pricing is subject to change due to fuel cost fluctuations so
please call to verify.

Boarding

We understand how it can be when your animals are
not directly under your own care. But you can be assured that
here at Heaven Sent we care for all of our little ones with the
same attention we provide our personal ones. Each animal is given
its own personal health chart and all information is recorded.
We monitor all our animals closely providing the best hays and
pasture space for grazing. Our new facility was built specifically
with alpacas in mind. It provides a variety of outdoor spaces,
as well as indoor space for those rainy days.
Fees per alpaca: $3.50 for clients,
$4.50 for non-clients, for May, June, July, Aug, Sept. & Oct;
$4.50 for clients, $5.50 for non-clients, for Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb,
Mar, & Apr (to cover additional feed costs during the winter).
This includes the very same pastures our herd enjoys as well as
the best hay we can provide. The service includes worming and
nail trimming monthly. We can make suggestions as to other
areas that may require attention. We provide a health record for
their stay here, and it helps if we're provided with a copy of
their health records prior to arriving.

Birthing Services
Alpaca birthing services are now being offered.
Our experience will give your pregnant females the best possible
full-time care.
We will monitor the pregnant alpaca throughout the
day and over an intercom system throughout the night for the four
week window around her due date (+/- 2 weeks of the due date).
This being when they give birth normally. We will know right
away if she's having trouble.
At the appropriate time, we give the veterinarian
advance notice of the birth in case his emergency assistance is
required. We are out there with the alpaca monitoring the
birth to ensure the safety of the cria and her mother. We
catch the baby, weigh it, take vitals, verify the mom is doing
well, take appropriate actions for the navel site and ensure that
the colostrum transfers properly. We even keep records on the
placenta weight and ensure that it is intact. If there are any
problems, we'll have the vet out to take charge, but otherwise
we'll have the vet out the following day or so to do a general
health exam at the owner's expense and draw an IgG if they desire.
If there is a need for the use of frozen colostrum or a
transfusion, we take the needed measures (additional cost to the
owners) to ensure as satisfactory an outcome as possible.
Fees: $250 plus veterinary expenses

Show Training
Fill your alpaca portfolio with awards like these
from Heaven Sent Alpacas.

We can help train your animals and provide transportation
to and from alpaca shows. Or you may be interested in making
your alpacas more presentable prior to a sales event.
Fees: For $180, we will board and train
your animal for a one-month period prior to the time of the show
or event (including worming and nail trimming). For best results,
the person who will be showing the animal should arrange to participate
in the training. We can make arrangements to show the animal
for you, if desired. If additional training time is needed,
we can discuss your needs to meet what you are trying to achieve.
